Though she looks like a mere mortal, Princess Aurora is a fairy blessed with enhanced strength, bravery, and mercy yet cursed to destroy the free will of any male who kisses her. Disguised as a boy, she enlists the help of the handsome but also cursed Prince Niklaas to fight legions of evil and free her brother from the ogre queen who stole Aurora's throne ten years ago.

Will Aurora triumph over evil and reach her brother before it's too late? Can Aurora and Niklaas break the curses that will otherwise forever keep them from finding their one true love?

I wasn't sure what to expect of this book.  I have felt so-so about this author in the past.  I enjoyed the book and am finding myself wanting to see it in movie form.

I am going to be honest- as a character, Aurora is a butt head.  She is not the kindest girl- or the smartest.  She is downright selfish.  But I did enjoy reading her story.  I found the other characters engaging and interesting.  I found Aurora's story interesting too- but for most of the story, I just didn't connect with her.

I think that sums up my entire feeling with this book- I DID enjoy it.  There was a scene that was supposed to be a redemptive moment for Aurora, but thinking back I just didn't "get" it completely.  It took until the last chapter or two for Aurora to have that "aha" moment and really turn things around.

If you are a fan of fantasy, you will most likely enjoy this book, as I did.  But you may find yourself questioning the main character more than once.  I don't consider this a negative or bad thing- just something that makes you think about the book.I would recommend this one for fantasy/ fairy tale lovers- I absolutely enjoyed reading it.
