Summary taken from Goodreads:

It starts with a whisper: “It’s time for you to know who you are…”

Violet Eden dreads her seventeenth birthday. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. As if that wasn’t enough, disturbing dreams haunt her sleep and leave her with very real injuries. There’s a dark tattoo weaving its way up her arms that wasn’t there before.

Violet is determined to get some answers, but nothing could have prepared her for the truth. The guy she thought she could fall in love with has been keeping his identity a secret: he’s only half-human—oh, and same goes for her.

A centuries-old battle between fallen angels and the protectors of humanity has chosen its new warrior. It’s a fight Violet doesn’t want, but she lives her life by two rules: don’t run and don’t quit. When angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden…

Look for the sequels ENTICED in September 2012 and EMBLAZE in March 2013!

Ok, I want to start with a mini rant.  I am incredibly tired of books that have main characters with crazy names.  Why can't protagonists in books have normal names? Violet is a nice name, don't get me wrong- but Violet Eden?  Now, this is tame compared to other books, but why can't a main character be Rachel, Mary, Sarah, or something common?

The book itself is fantastic!  I couldn't keep out of it- it was incredibly entertaining and exciting the entire way through.  I loved the passion between Lincoln and Violet and the passion between Violet and Pheonix.  This had enough drama to be on The Vampire Diaries (the show).  Man, the drama was intense!  I really love Lincoln's character.  I think the author made me want to love him and root for him.  Although Pheonix is a "bad boy" that has a sensitive side- I really pitied him and struggled rooting for him. (I can't tell you why, that would spoil the story!)

If you get a chance- get your hands on this book.  I can't wait until the next two books in this series come out.  I know some may say that this book lacked in plot- and it did a bit, there wasn't a great deal of action until the end of the book, but I am fine with that.  What the author lacked in action packed scenes, she made up with emotional scenes that were incredibly engrossing. I can't wait until September to find out what happens next to these characters!
