My Thoughts on Sweeter than Birdsong:

I was a big fan of Rosslyn Elliott's first book in the Saddler's Legacy Series.  What I am most taken with in the Saddler's Legacy series is that the author bases her books on real people.  It makes the story so much fuller to know that these events actually happened in real life.  I loved the main character, Kate.  It was interesting to read about a young woman who is painfully shy and not some "headstrong abnormal for the time period girl."  Although her personality is not the norm- it is also not the norm for Christian fiction.

I loved that the Hanby's are continuing through the series- I loved reading about them in the first book, and it was a joy to see how their lives progressed after that book ended.  Rosslyn Elliot is an incredibly gifted writer and I look forward to reading anything she writes in the future.  She has an incredible way of writing characters- they aren't perfect and you really "feel" for them.  You will want to pick up this book- it is a great second book in an oustanding series!
