Summary taken from Goodreads:

For seventeen years, Eloise Hart had no idea the world of Faery even existed. Now she has been abducted and trapped in the Rath of Lord Strahan, King of Faery. Strahan was only meant to rule for seven years, as Faery tradition dictates, and then give up his crown to another. But he won't comply, and now chaos threatens both worlds.

The only one who can break his stranglehold on the Faery court is his wife. . . Eloise's aunt Antonia. Using Eloise to lure Antonia, Strahan captures his wife, desperate to end the only threat to his reign. Now Eloise must become the rescuer. Together with her best friends Jo and Devin, she must forge alliances with other Fae, including a gorgeous protector named Lucas, and Strahan's mysterious son, Eldric—who may or may not betray them.

I want to start with the cover.  The cover of my ARC is much brighter than the one pictured above- Eloise's lips are bright red and the whole cover is very vivid.  I keep going back and forth on the cover.  The bright red lips and short brown hair really do represent the "rockabilly" fashion sense of Eloise and her friends, but I am not completely sold on it.  I do have high hopes for the finished copy though.
I love how original this story was.  Each fae story that I have read about a "normal teen being stolen" seems to have its own spin.  The author has taken that and run with it.  I don't want to say too much and spoil the book, but this book seems much earthier than other fae books.  Animals are represented, fae can become animals, and there are clans of different species.  I loved how thought out and elaborate the fae world was.  I really only got a taste of it and can't wait to find out more about the history and the Seelie Courts.

I was very confused at one point, and I feel like I should warn you.  The narrator changes throughout the story.  It switches between Eloise and Jo and without any warning.  At first, I found this to be extremely confusing and actually went back and reread parts because unless both characters are in the section, I wasn't entirely sure who was talking.  By halfway through the book I finally got it down.  I hope for the final printing of the book they make some sort of notation for the reader of who is speaking.

So much was packed into the very end of the book- I was very concerned that I wouldn't get any sort of resolution.  The way it is written, it seems like this will be a series... or at least have a companion novel.  I hope so- I can't wait to read more about Eldric and Jo (and of course Eloise and Lucas).  Excellent novel- I hope you all go out and grab it in January!

Thank you to ATW ARC Tours for providing me a copy.
